Data Centre Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Technician to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical data centre infrastructure.
You will work within a high-availability environment, ensuring equipment, systems and facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain data centre equipment and infrastructure
- Perform equipment installation, replacement and basic troubleshooting
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Respond to incidents and escalate technical issues when required
- Maintain accurate technical and maintenance records
- Follow site safety, security and operational procedures
- Work closely with engineering, facilities and operations teams
- Participate in planned maintenance and out-of-hours support where required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a data centre, critical environment or technical infrastructure role
- Knowledge of IT hardware, cabling and data centre operations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment
- Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable: Experience with structured cabling, servers, networking, UPS, power or cooling systems.
